Ingredients
- 3 cups flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 3 tbsp La Favorita Margarine
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 tsp orange zest
- 1 tsp lemon zest
Directions
- In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder and make a well in the center.
- Add the melted La Favorita Margarine, the eggs, the sugar, the orange zest, and the lemon zest. Mix well until you have a smooth, even dough. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll the dough out on a floured surface until it's about 1/8 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into rectangles or long shapes with a knife.
- Make a small slit in the center of each rectangle and pull one end through it to give it the traditional pristiño shape.
- In a pot, heat the La Favorita Oil over medium heat. Fry the pristiños until golden on both sides.
- Remove and serve, drizzled with honey to taste.
