Ingredients
- For the bagels
- 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 tbsp La Favorita Margarine (melted)
- For the chimichurri
- 1/2 cup fresh chopped parsley
- 1/4 cup fresh chopped cilantro
- 1 garlic clove, finely minced
- Juice of 1 lime
- 4 tbsp La Favorita Olive Oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the flour, the sugar, the salt, and the yeast. Add the warm water and the melted La Favorita Margarine. Knead until you have a smooth, elastic dough. Let it rest covered for 40 minutes, or until it doubles in size.
- Divide the dough into equal portions, roll them into balls, and poke a hole in the center to shape the bagel. Boil water in a pot and cook each bagel for 1 minute per side. Take them out and drain them well.
- Place the bagels on a baking sheet and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes, or until golden. Take them out and let them cool slightly before moving on.
- In a bowl, mix the parsley, the cilantro, the garlic, the lime juice, salt, and pepper. Slowly stir in the La Favorita Olive Oil until the mixture is smooth and aromatic.
- Cut the bagels in half, toast them lightly if you like, and add the chimichurri. This one is ideal for fresh, flavor-packed breakfasts.
- Remember that more than the result, what's truly special is the process — every step is a chance to add your personal touch and bring out your favorite version.
