Quiche Lorraine

Ingredients

  • 7 oz bacon, cut into strips
  • 1 tsp La Favorita Original Oil
  • 1 tsp nutmeg
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 7 oz shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 eggs
  • 3 1/2 oz puff pastry

Directions

  1. In a skillet, brown the bacon in 1 tbsp of La Favorita Oil. Once browned, remove the bacon from the skillet and set it on paper towels to drain the excess fat. Set aside.
  2. Roll the puff pastry out into the baking pan. Using a fork, prick the dough in several places so it doesn't puff up while baking. Refrigerate the pan with the dough for 20 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the heavy cream, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and shredded cheddar. Mix well until smooth.
  4. Spread the browned bacon evenly over the pastry in the pan. Pour the cream, milk, egg, and cheddar mixture over the bacon.
  5. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake the quiche for about 20 minutes at this initial temperature.
  6. After that, lower the oven to 350°F and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, until the quiche is golden on top and set in the center.
  7. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy it hot or at room temperature.
  8. Enjoy this delicious bacon and cheddar quiche!
  9. It's a versatile, tasty option you can serve as a main dish with a fresh salad, or as part of a brunch. Bon appétit!
