Ingredients
- 7 oz bacon, cut into strips
- 1 tsp La Favorita Original Oil
- 1 tsp nutmeg
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 7 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 3 1/2 oz puff pastry
Directions
- In a skillet, brown the bacon in 1 tbsp of La Favorita Oil. Once browned, remove the bacon from the skillet and set it on paper towels to drain the excess fat. Set aside.
- Roll the puff pastry out into the baking pan. Using a fork, prick the dough in several places so it doesn't puff up while baking. Refrigerate the pan with the dough for 20 minutes.
- In a bowl, whisk the heavy cream, milk, eggs, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and shredded cheddar. Mix well until smooth.
- Spread the browned bacon evenly over the pastry in the pan. Pour the cream, milk, egg, and cheddar mixture over the bacon.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F. Bake the quiche for about 20 minutes at this initial temperature.
- After that, lower the oven to 350°F and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes, until the quiche is golden on top and set in the center.
- Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving. You can enjoy it hot or at room temperature.
- Enjoy this delicious bacon and cheddar quiche!
- It's a versatile, tasty option you can serve as a main dish with a fresh salad, or as part of a brunch. Bon appétit!
